#WorkYourPlan Wednesday: How to Bounce Back from Setbacks

Did you know we have a weekly accountability online chat called #WorkYourPlan Wednesday?

#WorkYourPlan Wednesday was created to equip you with tools and strategies to help you take small, consistent steps towards the goals, dreams and visions God has placed in your heart. These check ins happen weekly in our StrongHerMe Facebook group and our StrongHerMe instagram account.

For #WorkYourPlan Wednesday we’re currently reading Successful Women Think Differently: 9 Habits to Make You Happier, Healthier, & More Resilient by Valorie Burton. There’s so much gold for women leaders in this book. It’s a personal favorite I’ve read multiple time and it’s a perfect fit for the weekly accountability check ins for #WorkYourPlan Wednesday.

In this week’s session of #WorkYourPlan Wednesday we discussed Habit 6 from the book: Be Prepared for the Battle. This chapter is essentially about resilience which is one of my favorite topics. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: if nothing in your life changed, everything would be different, if you changed. Resilience gives you the strength to grow and to thrive, despite the obstacles before you.

If you’re a member of our Facebook group and you haven’t had a chance to watch this week’s chat, I encourage you to make time to listen. In the video I share key lessons from the book and how applying those principles helped me break through a disappointing season of my life. Go here to watch: StrongHerMe Facebook

For those of you who aren’t big on social media or you just want to listen on the go, the audio version of the chat is below. Any method you choose to listen is up to you, but I hope you will listen, apply what you hear and share this with friends and family who need the encouragement.

Before you go…

Have you heard about the Journey Together Summit? I don’t think believe it’s a coincidence that the same week we are reading Habit 6 Be Prepared for Battle, I’m sharing my story for the Journey Together Summit. During these 40+ interviews, you’ll discover how to stand firm and full of faith when the hardest times of life hit.  Don’t worry, if you can’t attend in September, there’s an option to access all the videos post-event with the All Access Pass. Click this image to the left to register for FREE.

We had to honor this incredible young woman on our We had to honor this incredible young woman on our timeline today, because she represents the idealism that exists in our hearts for what’s possible in America.

From the opening prayer to the young woman’s words, diverse voices and experiences came together and they all had a place.

They all mattered!

Inclusivity, valuing our differences and honoring our unique perspectives, is the picture of unity.
Lord, let it continue. It’s time to move forward.

We don’t know any other way to honor this man th We don’t know any other way to honor this man than to tell the truth.

Today we repost the words of one of our most beloved disruptors @kaysfoodforthought:
“When MLK Day rolls around we often get the sanitized, after-school special version of him that makes everyone feel comfortable and docile.

Today, let's remember the true legacy of this great agitator. This architect of resistance who called a spade a spade so elegantly that he wooed half of America while inciting the other half. Let's remember his call to lay down our comforts and conveniences and take up in their place righteous indignation and a commitment to fight for what's right - even if it means offending some along the way.

You can relish in the myth of him as merely another peacemaker, or, you can be awakened to the vision of him as a revolutionary.

Today, I honor the man who was a disruptor of the status quo and vow to continue that good fight.

Be. A. Disruptor.”

How are you disrupting the status quo?
Happy New Year's Eve! 🥂🥳 We are grateful to Happy New Year's Eve! 🥂🥳
We are grateful to say we didn't just hobble through to the end of 2020. We are flourishing!

Authenticity served us well in 2020.

Our business, our founder (@kendratillman), the women we served grew and transformed as we leaned in to our uniqueness. We want to continue sowing those seeds in 2021. So, the word that will continue to guide us in 2021 is Authenticity.

We would love to know your word for the year for 2020. Please share it in the comments.
