#Make1Change Challenge: Weekend 2

It’s the second weekend of the #make1change challenge. There’s only one weekend left to go!

On the weekends I plan to share meal ideas that I’m hoping you will attempt during the week.

This week my sister launched her live web series, Cooking with Kay.

Cooking with Kay is a new web series featuring a live cooking demonstration. Each month, Khalilah will choose a meal and post the details in advance (so that you can go out and get your own ingredients and cook along with her)! She will prepare the meal LIVE while streaming it on Periscope.

By inviting you to cook right along side her you can see how quick and easy it can be to make a healthy meal for you and your family. And of course, there will be the opportunity for you to ask questions and check in while we cook. Experience the joy of preparing healthy meals for you and your loved ones.

The meal was easy to make and delicious.

What’s cookin’?

pan seared salmon kf4t

Lunch/dinner: pan seared salmon with roasted garlic and herb seasoning, asparagus tips, grape tomatoes and spicy sweet potatoes

berry dessert kf4t

Dessert: berries with whipped cream

Watch her make it: Kay’s Food for Thought on Facebook

The ingredients list can be found on her Facebook page: Kay’s Food for Thought

+++
If not, I encourage you to head over to the blog, listen to this week's #podcast episode (65) of how to finish the year strong, when you're tired and download your one page sheet for conducting your own year in review at StrongHer.me/episode65.

Instagram post 2190138747079985836_31119003 It’s December, y’all!
I will never forget asking God, a few years ago, to enlarge my circle of relationships. This group of women @theopendoorsisterhood were specific answers to my prayer.
+++
@alexandrakuykendall & @kristatgilbert are the visionaries who invited me into this sisterhood and made space for me to grow.
+++
I’m forever grateful for their commitment to their calling and the community of women who also answered the call.
+++
Who are the women God has placed in your life to remind you of His faithfulness?

We’re better together, y’all!

Tag them in the comments and remind them you’re better together. 📸 @rachsham

Instagram post 2183316227400094437_31119003 Tonight, I put on the cute dress and heels I’ve been saving for a special occasion AND applied eyelashes on my own for the first time, all for the sake of spending an evening laughing with the man I’ve loved since I was 18 years old.

Instagram post 2175508355299594837_31119003 *NEW PODCAST ALERT*
Really excited to share this interview with my cousin, Dr. Joia Crear Perry, an OBGYN and the founder and President of the @birthequity. We discuss how racism has impacted the quality of medical care black women receive in this country and the importance of all women being our own mental and physical health advocates.
+++
I open the #podcast sharing my thoughts on 2 of last week's news stories that I believe, illustrate why these conversations are so critical. I hope you'll listen in, share it with other women you know and share your thoughts with us.
+++
Listen to the full conversation on Apple Podcasts, Google Play or Spotify or on the blog at strongher.me/episode62. Link in profile.

Instagram post 2166245369410185390_31119003 It’s #WorkYourPlan Wednesday!

I had the privilege of seeing an early screening of the movie, #Harriet, last night. I’ll be sharing some gems from the movie, how it’s core message applies to our life and how it impacted me at 12:15pm MST today.

Question we’ll be discussing:
What would happen if we spent less time being impressed at how others are walking in their purpose and get busy about living our own?
