For the month of September where we will be talking about demystifying purpose. My conversation with Nicole Salmon centers around defining purpose and gaining clarity about your purpose.

episode 79 nicole salmon

When we’re unclear on our calling, we feel stuck and left behind. In today’s conversation, my guest Nicole Salmon helps us demystify “purpose” by revealing the one mindset shift we must make to be fruitful in every season of life. Tune in throughout September as we continue this monthly series on clarifying our purpose.

Purpose coach Nicole Salmon has worked with some pretty inspiring and powerful women over the years. You know the type. Fierce, has it all together and going places? Well at least to the public she is. But in her private life she is also unraveling and not clear about her next move. Why do they end up at her door? Because birds of a feather flock together. If the quest for finding your purpose has left you feeling stuck or left behind, you’re in the right place. In today’s episode, Nicole invites us to reject the idea that purpose is a destination, so that we can begin living from purpose, adapting it as our lifestyle.

In this episode we discuss…

  • The dark seasons that leave you feeling like purpose is over & how God uses them to propel you into His purposes for your life.
  • The grace of God that overrides shame’s intent to silence and muzzle your calling.
  • Walking in your calling as a believer by putting “purpose” into the proper perspective.
  • Following Purpose’s breadcrumbs in your life to rediscover and exercise your God-given gifts right where you are.

Words to Remember…

  • “Your mistakes do not void your purpose.”  – Nicole Salmon
  • “The question is not: What do I want to be? But: What do I want to do? I already am somebody.” – Nicole Salmon
  • “If the only time you are great is when your title is great, that’s not greatness. That’s a show.” – Nicole Salmon
  • “Time doesn’t clarify your purpose. Movement made toward your call in faith does. You will squint at purpose from afar until Jesus returns.” – Nicole Salmon

We had to honor this incredible young woman on our We had to honor this incredible young woman on our timeline today, because she represents the idealism that exists in our hearts for what’s possible in America.

From the opening prayer to the young woman’s words, diverse voices and experiences came together and they all had a place.

They all mattered!

Inclusivity, valuing our differences and honoring our unique perspectives, is the picture of unity.
Lord, let it continue. It’s time to move forward.

We don’t know any other way to honor this man th We don’t know any other way to honor this man than to tell the truth.

Today we repost the words of one of our most beloved disruptors @kaysfoodforthought:
“When MLK Day rolls around we often get the sanitized, after-school special version of him that makes everyone feel comfortable and docile.

Today, let's remember the true legacy of this great agitator. This architect of resistance who called a spade a spade so elegantly that he wooed half of America while inciting the other half. Let's remember his call to lay down our comforts and conveniences and take up in their place righteous indignation and a commitment to fight for what's right - even if it means offending some along the way.

You can relish in the myth of him as merely another peacemaker, or, you can be awakened to the vision of him as a revolutionary.

Today, I honor the man who was a disruptor of the status quo and vow to continue that good fight.

Be. A. Disruptor.”

How are you disrupting the status quo?

We are grateful to say we didn't just hobble through to the end of 2020. We are flourishing!

Authenticity served us well in 2020.

Our business, our founder (@kendratillman), the women we served grew and transformed as we leaned in to our uniqueness. We want to continue sowing those seeds in 2021. So, the word that will continue to guide us in 2021 is Authenticity.

We would love to know your word for the year for 2020. Please share it in the comments.
